Not that long ago I wrote a blog post regarding mental health being spoken about in schools (you can read that one here if you’d like! http://www.vik.org.uk/2012/08/13/voices-that-need-to-be-heard-mental-health-in-schools/#comment-3624) and I just thought I would write another post on how the idea has progressed to keep you all in the picture!
I have since then been contacted by a Regional VIK Support Officer for my local area and he feels very strongly about the same issue, so I could be joining him to campaign for it, that being, that Mental Health is spoken about in schools across the nation. Well, for now we are starting with our local region of course but I just need to get round to setting up a day to meet him and then we can hopefully get started as soon as possible, exciting! I really hope that we can help change the way certain situations are dealt with as that would be exactly what I aimed to achieve through doing this.
I seem to have been absent from all kinds of internet-based things recently as I’ve just recently started at Sixth Form and also my internet was off for a short while so I apologize for that. For now I must say that you’re probably stuck with me for a while as of now but please check out my previous post and let me know your opinion on the matter! Thank you!

Hi,
Really interesting discussion. I’ve visited several secondary schools and run workshops with students on mental health / illness. In some classes I have shared with the students my own personal story and sometimes the lessons have been much more general.
Over the past two years I have been working on a school wellbeing initiative

The website for this will launch in a few months. In the meantime please contact me if you want to help drive the scheme forward or are seeking any advice on going into schools.
Best of luck.
