misconceptions after diagnosis

Before you’re diagnosed

You’re angry because someone’s wronged you

You’re sad because something’s upset you

You’re lonely because your friends are away

You’re confused because you have misunderstood

You feel things because you’re alive

After you’re diagnosed

You’re angry, you’re sad, you’re lonely, and you’re confused all because you’re ill

Why can’t I feel these things because I’m alive anymore?

Why can’t I be treated like a human being?

Why can’t you see that not everything I do is because I’m ill?
